Francis I was the first monarch of the French Renaissance and a passionate patron of the arts. He acquired works by Michelangelo, Titian and Raphael and laid the foundations for the royal collection of paintings that is now on display in Paris at the Louvre Museum. The brown tiger's eye stone with golden highlights and the black precious resin give the Francis I limited edition a royal aura. Its gold-plated clip and rings are finely engraved with Renaissance-style motifs. The nib is decorated with an engraving of a fleur-de-lis, the emblem of the French royal family.
