The Chronomat occupies an important place in Breitling's history. By launching it in 1984, at a time when ultra-thin quartz timepieces were the order of the day, Breitling took a risky gamble with a mechanical watch of impressive size.
Based on the Frecce Tricolori chronograph, developed and launched in 1983 in collaboration with the famous Italian air patrol, the Chronomat celebrated Breitling's centenary in style and brought the mechanical chronograph back to its rightful place. Available in a wide range of materials from stainless steel to 18-karat red gold, the Chronomat features a 42 mm case and an iconic four-rider bezel. Available in a range of colorful dials, the Chronomat is available with either a metal or rubber Rouleaux bracelet. It is powered by the Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01, a COSC-certified chronometer.
