Santos watch, large model, 1847 MC self-winding mechanical movement. Steel case, 7-sided crown decorated with a faceted synthetic spinel, silvered opaline dial, blued steel sword-shaped hands, sapphire crystal. Steel bracelet with "SmartLink" sizing system. Second calfskin strap, with interchangeable steel folding clasp. Both bracelets are equipped with the "QuickSwitch" interchangeability system. Case width: 39.8 mm, thickness: 9.08 mm. Water-resistant to 10 bar (~100 meters).
1904, Louis Cartier grants the wish of the famous Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos Dumont: to read the time in mid-flight. Thus was born one of the first wristwatches, sealing the friendship of two pioneers. Its dial with rounded corners, its harmoniously curved attachments, its visible screws sign an iconic watch that will be the subject of multiple reinterpretations.
