Since 2013, IWC Schaffhausen has been the Official Engineering Partner of the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One™ Team. The Pilot's Watch Mark XX Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One™ Team is the third official watch created by IWC Schaffhausen specifically for its long-standing partner. The 40 mm case is crafted from lightweight and exceptionally rigid grade 5 titanium. Offering the best strength-to-density ratio of any metal, titanium is also used in automotive engineering to produce components subjected to high stress, such as engine valves. After machining and sandblasting, the surface retains a superb grayish sheen. The team's signature green, which adorns the numerals and hour markers, contrasts with the black dial. The hour, minute, and second hands are coated with Super-LumiNova® in the same shade of green. At the heart of the case beats the IWC-manufactured calibre 32111, an automatic movement offering a 120-hour power reserve. Water-resistant to 10 bar, this watch is fitted with a Petronas green rubber strap featuring the EasX-CHANGE® system.
