While most GMT watches indicate the second time zone by means of an additional hand, the Montblanc 1858 GMT presents its GMT indication without hands, in an extremely intuitive and legible way. The Montblanc 1858 GMT indicates the second time zone by a red square that moves along the outside of the dial. The red square is positioned next to a fixed blue anodized aluminum bezel and enhanced by a 24-hour clock. This system also indicates the half hours. Other functions include the date and central seconds. The watch, housed in a 42 mm stainless steel case, is equipped with a black sunray dial and an interchangeable tapered stainless steel bracelet with a precise adjustment system. The engraving on the caseback depicts the continents, oceans and names of cities located in each of the 24 time zones, providing an indication of world times.
