Joseph II was elevated to the title of German King in 1764 and a year later became Holy Roman Emperor. Pursuing an enlightened policy of "Josephinism", Joseph II pursued far-reaching and innovative reforms in the cultural sphere, thanks to which the cultural city of Vienna reached a new peak. Joseph II paved the way for Mozart to become one of the greatest composers in the history of music, and entered history not only as a "reforming emperor", but also as one of Mozart's most important promoters and patrons. The writing instruments of the Joseph II Limited Edition feature delicate elements of the royal crown ornaments. The design is inspired by the monarch's imperial coat of arms, which is immortalized in the form of a delicate engraving on a champagne-coloured Au 750/1000 gold nib.
