We love a story, which is why we love watches. Behind every timepiece lies a story of design, heritage, craftsmanship, and emotion, and we are always looking to discover and share them. Every year, Watches and Wonders brings together passionate collectors, retailers, journalists, and watch enthusiasts from around the world to celebrate those stories and the artistry behind them. In no particular order, here are the watches that spoke to us most this year through their reinvented designs and distinctive character.

Panerai Luminor Destro

Securing a spot in our “top 6” is the Panerai Luminor Destro. Recognized for its military-inspired design, the watch reimagines the iconic Luminor aesthetic through a more refined and contemporary lens. Crafted in steel, it features Panerai’s signature left-sided crown-protecting bridge, originally designed for Italian Navy divers. Its matte blue sandwich dial and vintage-inspired luminous markers beautifully balance utilitarian heritage with modern elegance, creating a nostalgic yet refreshingly current feel.

Tudor Monarch

Next, we have the Tudor Monarch, introducing a bold new design language for Tudor while celebrating the brand’s 100th anniversary. Crafted in stainless steel, the watch features a sharply faceted case and integrated-style bracelet with a distinctly modern feel, contrasted by a vintage-inspired “papyrus” champagne dial with California-style numerals. Drawing inspiration from early Tudor aesthetics, the Monarch brings an unexpected sense of freshness to the Maison’s traditionally sport-focused lineup.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Chronometre Date

The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Chronometre Date perfectly captures the classic Jaeger-LeCoultre aesthetic with a modern touch. Its stainless steel finish gives the watch a chic, contemporary feel while remaining rooted in the timeless design codes of the Master Control collection. Paired with a striking blue-grey gradient dial, the piece feels understated yet sophisticated. Inspired by the clean, elegant round watches created by Jaeger-LeCoultre in the 1950s, this updated interpretation brings a refined sense of freshness to one of the Maison’s most iconic collections.

Portofino Automatic Day & Night 34 Le Petit Prince

One of our favourite novelties this year is certainly the IWC Portofino Automatic Day & Night 34 Le Petit Prince. This timepiece brings a delicate and poetic dimension to the Portofino collection, combining classic elegance with the whimsical universe of Le Petit Prince. Featuring a deep blue sunray dial, gold-plated hands, diamond hour markers, and a charming day-and-night display at 6 o’clock, where the Little Prince stands upon the moon beneath a starry sky, the watch offers a softer, more storytelling-driven interpretation of the Portofino collection.

Piaget Polo 79

The Piaget Polo 79 Sodalite reimagines one of Piaget’s most iconic designs through a striking combination of 18k white gold and deep blue sodalite stone. Originally introduced in 1979 as a glamorous interpretation of the sports watch, the Polo 79 has become synonymous with effortless yet bold luxury. This latest version introduces an ornamental stone dial for the first time in the modern reinterpretation of the collection. We especially appreciate how the watch preserves its distinctly vintage spirit while introducing a refined touch of novelty through the vibrant sodalite dial this season.

Cartier Tortue Mini

Last but not least, the Cartier Tortue Mini beautifully revives one of Cartier’s most historic shapes through a delicate, jewelry-inspired interpretation in white gold. Originally introduced in 1912, the Tortue has long been celebrated for its distinctive curved silhouette, inspired by the shape of a tortoise shell. Cartier beautifully preserves the vintage spirit of the Tortue in its mini version, while giving it a softer, more contemporary sense of femininity and high jewelry sophistication.

Beyond the technical mastery and innovation unveiled throughout this year’s Watches and Wonders Geneva 2026, these were the creations that left a lasting impression on us through their storytelling and distinctive design identity. From vintage-inspired reinterpretations to poetic new expressions of iconic collections, each of these timepieces reminded us that the beauty of watchmaking lies not only in precision, but in a watch’s ability to evoke emotion, preserve heritage, and tell a story that lives on long after the fair comes to an end.
