The Chronomat occupies an important place in Breitling's history. By launching it in 1984, at a time when ultra-thin quartz timepieces were the order of the day, Breitling took a risky gamble with a mechanical watch of impressive size.
Based on the Frecce Tricolori chronograph, developed and launched in 1983 in collaboration with the famous Italian aerobatic team, the Chronomat celebrated Breitling's centenary in style and brought the mechanical chronograph back to its rightful place. It is worth remembering that the brand has built its entire global reputation on these absolutely sublime watches.
The Chronomat features a 42 mm case and the iconic 4-rider bezel. Presented here in 18-karat red gold with an anthracite dial, the Chronomat is offered on a black rubber strap. It is powered by the Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01, a COSC-certified chronometer.
