Spitfire Pilot's Watch

Throughout its history, IWC Schaffhausen has designed numerous military watches for various branches of the British armed forces. These service watches were characterized by high-precision movements, extreme robustness, a functional design with easily legible dials, and specific technical features. The Pilot's Watches Spitfire reflect this chapter in the brand's history. The Big Pilot's Watch 43 Spitfire features the signature Big Watch design with its striking conical crown in an ergonomic 43-millimeter case, combined with a distinct military aesthetic. The case and crown are made of bronze, while the case back is titanium. In addition to copper, the bronze used by IWC also contains aluminum and iron. This specific composition makes it an alloy approximately 50% harder than standard bronze. The bronze develops a unique patina over time, giving each piece its own distinct character and look. The warm bronze color harmonizes with the military green dial and gold-plated hands. For enhanced legibility at night, the hands and numerals are coated with luminescent material. Equipped with a uniquely textured green buffalo leather strap, the timepiece also features IWC's new EasX-CHANGE® system, allowing the wearer to change straps quickly and easily at the touch of a button. Inside the case is the IWC-manufactured Calibre 82100 movement. Reinforced with ceramic components, the Pellaton winding system provides a 60-hour power reserve. A soft-iron case protects the movement from magnetic fields.
