The pilot's chronograph for adventurers, complemented by a living piece of history.
On March 21, 1999, Bertrand Piccard and Brian Jones completed the first non-stop circumnavigation of the globe in a balloon. Aboard their Breitling Orbiter 3, they covered 45,633 kilometers in 19 days, 21 hours and 47 minutes before landing in the Egyptian desert. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of this feat, Breitling launched the Aerospace B70 Orbiter. This timepiece, equipped with a dial in the same bright orange as the capsule and adorned with the mission logo, is presented on a titanium or black rubber bracelet. Its case in titanium, a metal chosen for its high strength relative to its weight, houses the COSC-certified Breitling Manufacture Caliber B70. This SuperQuartz™ movement, ten times more precise than a standard quartz movement, powers a host of functions, including a 1/100th-second chronograph (with split and lap times), a countdown timer, a second time zone, two alarms and a perpetual calendar. To top it all off, each watch in this special edition contains a living piece of history: a fragment of the original ball, visible through the open caseback.
